When it comes to interviewing, it really does pay to error on the side of conservative. You want to look nice, but not be flashy. You don't need a $1,000 plus suit to land a biglaw gig. I interviewed in a nice hand-me-down that I had altered. That being said, NY is a bit more formal than the West and the South and people pay attention to clothing more in NY (because they don't have a Mercedes or BMW to validate themselves). French cuffs aren't flashy per se, but regular cuffs are safer. |
